Tarnia & Iain’s Autumn Wedding at Ashton Lodge Country House
By John Roberto · 13 June 2026 · 4 min read

Tarnia and Iain married at Ashton Lodge Country House, a handsome country-house venue at Street Ashton near Rugby, on a soft October day. It's the kind of wedding the documentary approach was made for: a whole day unfolding in one beautiful place, with no rushing between locations and plenty of room to let the celebration breathe.
An elegant period ceremony room
The ceremony took place in one of Ashton Lodge's light-filled period rooms: sage walls, ornate cornicing, chandeliers and tall floral pedestals either side of the registrar's table. We photographed Tarnia's entrance, the vows and the first kiss quietly from the side, keeping out of the way so the room stayed exactly as the couple and their guests experienced it.

Confetti on the terrace, portraits on the lawn
Outside, the house and its grounds gave us everything we needed: a confetti line on the terrace, family groups gathered easily on the lawn with the country house behind them, and a relaxed walk for couple portraits as the light softened. With a full eight hours of coverage there was time for all of it without anyone feeling marshalled, the mark of a venue and a timeline that work together.
