The approach
What documentary actually means.
Most of your wedding day isn't posed, and the best photographs of it shouldn't be either. Documentary wedding photography means following the day as it unfolds: the nerves while getting ready, the look on someone's face during the speeches, the friends who can't stop laughing at the back of the room. Nothing staged, nothing repeated for the camera.
That doesn't mean standing back and hoping. John works close enough to catch the moments that matter and far enough away that you forget he's there. When direction genuinely helps (group photos, a few minutes of couple portraits in good light), it's calm and quick, then the day carries on.

On the day
Calm guidance, not stage direction.
Before the wedding, we'll talk through your timeline, the people who matter most, and any group photos you'd like, so on the day there are no clipboards and no surprises. John arrives early, finds the light, and blends in.
Couples regularly tell us the photography was the part of the day they worried about least. If you hate posing, that's fine; most of our couples do. A pre-wedding shoot is a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera first, and it's included with the Signature and Prestige collections, and £300 to add to any other. Prefer more of the day instead? Swap the included shoot for the same hours of wedding coverage.
Afterwards, every photograph is edited by hand and delivered to a private online gallery within 21 days: high-resolution, ready to download, print and share.
