The day, hour by hour
What do four, six or eight hours actually look like?
An example day, not a script: every wedding runs differently. Each scene shows which collections usually cover it, so you can see exactly what the extra hours buy.

Preparations
The quiet hours before anyone else arrives. Dresses on hangers, a mother fastening a necklace, the room slowly filling with people who love you. Almost nobody remembers this part clearly, which is exactly why it is worth photographing.

The ceremony
Vows, rings, the look on both your faces. We work from the edges with quiet lenses, so the only thing you notice is each other.

Confetti
Thirty seconds of complete chaos, and usually the loudest anyone cheers all day. Worth being ready for, and worth doing twice if the light is good.

Family & friends
The group photographs you actually want, done properly and quickly, then the ones that happen on their own: cousins reunited, a grandparent holding court, everyone talking at once. We keep the formal list short so you get back to your own party.

The two of you
Twenty minutes away from everyone, usually the only twenty minutes you get. It feels like a walk rather than a photoshoot, and it is where most couples find their favourite photograph of the day.

Speeches & the last dance
The best man losing his nerve, your father not quite getting through his, the whole room falling apart laughing. Then the lights drop and the floor fills. This is the half of the day a shorter booking never sees.

The part couples worry about
You don't need to know what to do in front of a camera.
Most couples tell us they are awkward in photographs. That is normal, and it is the whole point of how we work: for most of the day, nobody will ask you to do anything at all. We photograph what actually happens.
The family groups take about twenty minutes, with enough direction that nobody has to wonder where to stand. The couple portraits feel more like a short walk. Then you are back with your guests, and we go back to watching the day.

The person behind the camera
I'm John. I photograph the day as it happens rather than directing it, and Mirella keeps everything around it running: the emails, the timings, the details. Between the two of us, you always know exactly who you are talking to.

Included with Prestige
Something that outlives the hard drive.
Forty pages, ten inches square, thick matte pages that lie flat when you open them. We design the sequence ourselves and send it to you before anything is printed, so the story runs the way you remember it rather than the way a template decided.
It is worth around £250 to buy and comes free with Prestige for a limited time.

A practice run, essentially.
An hour or two somewhere you like, months before the wedding. No dress, no schedule, no audience.
It exists because almost nobody is comfortable in front of a camera the first time, and the first time should not be your wedding morning. By the time the day comes round, being photographed by us is already familiar, and it shows in every frame.
Rather have the time on the day instead? Swap it: Signature becomes 7 hours of wedding coverage, Prestige becomes 10.

If you are torn
Which collection is right for us?
Essentials
Choose Essentials if the ceremony and the celebrations you most want photographed sit comfortably inside a four-hour window. It is a complete collection, not a cut-down one.
Signature
Choose Signature if you want the ceremony, the portraits, the reception and the speeches told properly, without needing the very start and very end of the day.
Prestige
Choose Prestige if you want the day followed from the quiet of the morning through to the dance floor, with the album on the shelf at the end of it.
Still torn? Send your date and rough plans with the form below and we will tell you honestly which collection actually fits, including when the smaller one is enough.

Where we work
London first, and wherever the day takes us.
Town halls, churches, hotels, gardens and pubs across the capital, and the rest of the UK with travel confirmed upfront. If you are marrying somewhere we know well, our Chelsea Old Town Hall guide and recent weddings at Battersea Park and Highley Manor show how a day unfolds. Marrying soon? We keep a page for last-minute weddings too. And if you are still comparing photographers, our honest guide to what wedding photography costs in London is the place to start.
